Head and Neck Cancer

Radiation therapy is the primary treatment for most tumors of the head and neck region, allowing for high chance of cure with preservation of speech and swallow function.  Often, this type of treatment is combined with chemotherapy.  Dr. Paryani trained under some of the world’s leaders in Head and Neck Cancer at the University of Florida and treats a large number of these patients annually.  He works with a multidisciplinary team that includes dieticians, home health, nutritionists, and speech and swallow therapists.  Most freestanding cancer centers do not have these types of resources, which are essential in guiding patients through these challenging treatments.
